Scrapbooking with a WOW Factor!

Hi everyone! Amy Prior here today to share with you all some fabulous recent layouts that I have created using WOW Embossing Powders and Stamp Sets. These fabulous products have such an amazing array of uses in Scrapbooking and I hope my layouts below will show you new ways of using your Embossing Powders in Scrapbooking Layouts.

The first layout I have to share today is of some sky high photos I recently took on my plane trip across the beautiful Australian Country side. For this first layout, I have used the Songbird Collection from Prima Marketing which I have teamed up with some fabulous Lace, Twine & Cheesecloth.

This embossed effect on the background was created using the Crafters Workshop Template Tile Texture 12x12 and WOW Embossing Powder White Opaque.

These gorgeous Chipboard birds from A2Z Scraplets got a coat of subtle Crackle Paint followed by some random ink splattering. To top off these beauties, I have added subtle bits of White Opaque WOW Embossing Powder. I just adore the Shabby Chic effect that was randomly created on these birds.

Lastly I altered some of my Prima Patterned Paper using the Flowers Stamp Set and some more White Opaque Embossing Powder from WOW. After creating my embossed image, I have sprayed the entire surface with water and then randomly added different shades of Perfect Pearls over the top. Of course the embossed area acted as a resist because I simply used water so I then was able to allow this to dry and it simply pooled into the non embossed areas like magic! I love how this turned out and it is such a pretty addition of sparkle to this shabby layout.

Next up is a layout of my beautiful girl Mia with her Breathtaking Beauty. Ok so I am a little biased LOL. I have used the Kaisercraft English Rose Collection along with some fabulous Chipboard pieces from A2Z Scraplets

This chipboard title received a coating of Brown ink followed by a layer of Clear Crackle Medium and then some more White Opaque WOW Embossing Powder. I just love this effect. It is so cool watching the powder melt into and around the cracks.

The Patterned Paper that I mounted these photos onto got a distressed look using the White Opaque WOW Embossing Powder.

This beautiful birdie was a leftover from the above layout (A Birds Eye View). It fit in well with this layout and its Shabby Details.

This gorgeous A2Z Scraplets Chipboard Bird Cage looks fabulous with coats of White Opaque WOW Embossing Powder, Crackle Paint & Glimmer Mists.

And the last touch of WOW on this layout is the gorgeous added distressing of the Punch around the Page details.

This next layout is of "Just Me"and I have used the Follow Your Heart Collection Designed by Rhonna Farrar for My Minds Eye. This collection is an all time fave of mine and I simply adore how well the WOW Embossing Powder Colours worked with this layout.

I have chopped up a large sheet of Hexagons to use on this layout over the background features. The below one pictured here is coated with White Opaque WOW Embossing Powder.

The piece pictured below has been coated with a mixture of Bay Area Blue & Cotton Candy WOW Embossing Powders.

And lastly this piece was coated with Earthone Honey WOW Embossing Powders.

The Patterned Paper Mounting the photo was given a distressed edge look using Bright White Opaque WOW Embossing Powder.

This beautiful Ivory Fabric Flower also had a little touch of Bay Area Blue & Cotton Candy WOW Embossing Powders added to the edges of the petals.

This next layout has some silly and crazy photos of myself and 2 very dear friends. We are all a little insane LOL. I have used the Boys Life Collection from Echo Park for this layout. Proving that not all boyish papers, etc have to be used for just boys.

Firstly for this layout, I have coated some fabulous Chipboard Stars from A2Z Scraplets with WOW Embossing Powders. Firstly I coated a few layers of Ultra High Copper, I then sprinkled some Bay Area Blue over the top before it dried and heated it again letting it melt together slightly.

Here you can see another star where I have used the same techniques above however for the second star pictured here, I have used the Ultra High Copper then added a layer of Cheesecloth before it dried and I have added a rough second layer of Ultra High Copper. After this step I have sprayed with Lindy Stamp Gang Chocolate Brown and allowd to dry.

The background also pictured here has had a Crafters Workshop Stencil that I sprayed with Dylusions Inks Sprays and after slightly twisting the stencil a little to the right, I have added a layer of Blueberry WOW Embossing Powder so the green looks like a shadow.

And last but not least, I have a grungey Mixed Media layout to share using WOW Embossing Powders alongside 7 Dots Studio Papers.

This fabulous title from A2Z Scraplets has had a coat of a mixture of WOW Embossing Powder Colours. The colours include Cable Car Red, Bay Area Blue & California Sunshine Regular. Both the Cable Car Red & The California Sunshine Powders are Transparent and not Opaque so they were really fun to melt with other colours and I just love the outcome!

The black tags used on this layout have also had the same mixture of WOW Embossing Powder Colours. I have used the Harlequinn Crafters Workshop Template for this effect.

WOW What a mammoth post! Thank you so much for reading and I hope I have inspired you to get your powders out and start melting! There are so many possibilities for using the WOW Embossing Powders and Stamp Sets on your layouts so try them out today!!

Until next time......Happy Scrapping!

Tricia and The Powder Pixies are back!

Hi there, it's Tricia and the Powder Pixies! We are back with an amazing sampling of project to help get your creative juices flowing. To begin with, here is a wonderful layout created by Iris Uy using WOW ultra high gold and platinum embossing powders. See how she added embossed circles and gears to play up and emphasize the masculine feel of her layout?

Jenifer Cowles' project this month was a lovely layout featuring the: "Call Me" and the "It's a bird" stamp sets and Earthtone and Pepper embossing powders. She created her own patterned paper look  by using a background stamp behind her photo?

Design team member Jamie Cripps created a  fantastic 3 dimensional chandelier using Black Glint Embossing Glitter on a die cut Chandelier by Samantha Walker for Silhouette America. Below she has even been kind enough to share a tutorial with us as well! Take a look at the detailed instructions below for an inside look to her creative process.

Designer Tanisha Long created this stunning layout using the WOW Gratitude and Call Me Stamp Sets.
She also used Neutral Ultra Shimmer Embossing Glitter, Black Glint Embossing Glitter and Skyline Grey Puff powder to achieve her look. Look how the Glitters sparkle and add a perfect touch of sparkle to her design.
And finally for my project. For this layout I used both Clear and Silver embossing powders and the Gratitude stamp set. I embossed a corner of my paper with the clear embossing powder for added shine, then punched out all of the hearts on the layout. The jar and the line of hearts below the picture are embossed with the silver powder.
Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today. I hope you have enjoyed the projects we have shared with you. Continue to come back daily for new projects and a constant stream of inspiration.

Candy

Hello Wow fans!!! Benedicte here: today, I'd like to show you this simple technique that I love to create very original background. I use an embossing powder of any color I like - here Olive - on the entire stamp board - here the "Is it a bird" stamps. Then you just have to use it along with a few embellishments and to place your photo. And that's it, you've created a simple layout in a few minutes that matches the colors of your photos!

Talk to you soon :)

Steampunk Art Canvas Flies With the help of Powder

I can't hide it even if I tried, my love for Steampunk art is pretty strong. The combination of vintage and industrial together is inspirational for me. Maybe it is the contrast or perhaps the dreamy nature of it, but Steampunk is pretty darn cool. Hi Everyone, Erika Taylor here today to share with you a Canvas I created using So of my favorite Wow Embossing Powders. The Gold Rich and Copper Embossing powders are perfect to distress gears with and I love mixing them together to create a really unique look.

I also used the Wow Clear Gloss Embossing powder on the butterfly and drizzled a little more of the Cooper powder on top. Love this butterfly!!!

The final project is filled with glimmer and whimsy and I really am a fan of how it turned out. The gears are perfect thanks to Wow Embossing Powders.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and taking a look at my Steampunk inspired Canvas using my favorite Wow Embossing Powders.

Until next time

Kraft and white WOW!

Hello!  Jen Roach here and today I have a few quick and easy cards to share with you that I created using some kraft cardstock, WOW! Opaque Bright White embossing powder and the WOW! Gratitude stamp set

But first, don't forget about the blog hop (with an awesome prize pack) that we have going on.  All of the details can be found on Suzy's  post here.

For this first card I created the background using two stamps from the WOW! Gratitude set. I put both of the strips onto the same block before stamping which made creating the background super quick.  For the ticket strip I lined up the stamps so that the ends were touching and then embossed and cut them out.

For the second card I used a tree stencil template.  I applied Versamark ink all over the surface and then embossed with the opaque white WOW! powder. I also "distressed" the edges with my Versamark pad, dipped the edges into the powder and embossed again.  I finished off the card with some white ruffle ribbon, baker's twine and a sentiment flag that I stamped in kraft ink.

Supplies (Grateful):
WOW! Stamps: Gratitude set
WOW! Embossing Powders: WL01 - Opaque bright white
Ink: Versamark Ink (for embossing)
Papers: The Paper Company kraft cardstock, Georgia Pacific white cardstock
Accessories: Wood button, Prima flowers, pearl straight pins, Fiskars scalloped border punch

Supplies (Thank you trees):
WOW! Stamps: Gratitude set
WOW! Embossing Powders: WL01 - Opaque bright white
Ink:  Versamark ink (for embossing), Memento Desert Sand ink (sentiment)
Papers:  Bazzill kraft cardstock, Georgia Pacific white cardstock
Accessories:  Flax baker's twine (The Twinery), wood button, white ruffle trim, Crafter's Workshop tree template (Aspen Trees 6 x 6" template)

Hope you enjoyed today's projects.

It's Clear

Hey there blog fans--  Tanisha here with a special project for a special lady.  I'm sure you are aware that this month is just about over, which means Mother's Day is right around the corner.

I used my 2 new favorite (for now) WOW powders, Clear Gloss Ultra High and Neutral Ultra Shimmer glitter and the Flowers background stamp to create this canvas for mom.

I sporadically stamped the background with the stamp and embossed with Clear Gloss Ultra High.  I used several different inks to add color to the canvas and then used a damp paper towel to remove the ink from the embossing leaving a  masked look.

I used Neutral Ultra Shimmer Embossing Glitter on the flowers, the canvas background and the photo corners.  I love how the powders melt to clear glittery gloss allowing the color of the embellishments to shine through.

I have to admit, these 2 powders are addictive!  I literally had to stop myself from covering the entire canvas in glitter!

That's all from me today.  Thanks for stopping by...be sure to visit often as our DT posts on a daily basis!

Later,

Tanisha

Something a little special to WOW you!

Hello all, Donna here and today it is my turn to share a project I have been working on.  A few weeks ago I got a new shipment of embossing powders and stamps, and OMG they are all so YUMMY!  the colours are so vibrant and the stamps are divine.  I wanted to do something special for one of my friends and I came up with this project.  The only problem is that I love it that much I don't know if it is going to leave my dresser.  whooops!   I love to go to op shops and up-cycle my findings.  I found this little wee pine box and thought that it had lots of possibilities...  This is what I turned it into.
First I stamped over the whole box with the BROCADE stamp in black archival ink.  After the ink has dried, cover the whole box with barn door distress stain, you can speed up the drying time by using a heat gun.  Once the stain is dry spread a very thin layer of glossy accents over the entire box.  The reason I coated the box in glossy accents is so the wood will not absorb the VersaMark and leaves the surface nice and juicy for your embossing powder.

Now for the fun part, get your CLEAR GLOSS ULTRA HIGH and coat entire box.  I found it easier to do one side at a time. Heat.  I have done two coats.  After the Ultra high has set go back over the corners and edges of the box with versamark and then add METALLIC COPPER ULTRA HIGH.

And there you have it,  one wee  wooden box found at the op shop turned into something pretty special.  Decorate to your own taste.  I love grunge so I had to grunge it up a bit.  I also added some Metallic copper to the flower on the top of the box.

Now I have made something to go into the wee box,  To find out come visit me tomorrow on my blog and see what I have created, and join us in our blog hop!   That's all from me for now,  HAPPY SCRAPPIN and see you all tomorrow  xox Donna

P.S  Don't forget our blog hop,  Start here :-)
