Glitter Girls are back in town!

Hello out there to all of you WOW lovers!

It is Team Glitter Girls, and we are back with another team post!

This month we all focused on making layouts, and we sure love how they turned out!

Let’s get down to business, and see what we did with all

the gorgeous powders we had in our hot little hands!

Our first layout was made by Jen Matott, and here is what she has to say about her layout.

“The white flowers are stamped and using the white embossing powder... it creates a resist technique that allows me to color over top without it sticking to the design!”

Such a great idea!  I love it!

Supply List:

WOW! Opaque Bright White Regular {WLO1R}

Versa Mark ink

Faber-Castell Gelatos

Prima papers and embellies

Next we have a darling layout from Benedicte!  It is beautiful!
I love how she used the doilee, and then layered the small tag on top of it!
Supplies Used:

Build a butterfly stamp

Brocade stamp set

Bay Area Blue Suzy West powders

Olive Suzy West powders

Cotton Candy Suzy West powders

Now let’s take a peek at what Amy did this month!

Let’s see what little tips she shared with us as well!

“I love cutting out shapes on my Silhouette Cameo. I also love using the negative space lately. For this layout I cut the sun out of the grey patterned paper and then instead of using the sun, I used the 12x12 paper for the layout. I took my Wow California Sunshine embossing powder and the brocade stamp and embossed on white cardstock and attached it to the back of the grey patterned paper, so the sun shines right through. I love the shininess of the embossed images. I then added some buttons, stitching and a title. I also used the border stamps from the Gratitude Stamp Set to border the outside edges of the layout. If you have never used negative space in a layout before, try it. Cut something fun and then emboss on white cardstock and attach so it shows through. I think you will really like this technique.”

Wow! Products Used:

Brocade Stamp
Gratitude Stamp Set
California Sunshine Embossing Powder

Let’s take a look at what Diana whipped up!

Are you noticing the trend of white space on these layouts?

I love it!

Diana Says,

”Lately it seems I am really going for a minimalist look. I am not using as much paper and white space is really inspiring me. I feel like it makes the photos and journaling the center of attention, which is important to me. On this layout, I used the Platinum Sparkle to emboss the arrow on the photo and I used the clear gloss to emboss the little birds that I punched with the Martha Stewart punch. I also embossed the little Maya Road wooden circle with white so that it would fit in with the white theme.”

Diana’s journaling reads: I love this moment. Grandpa Vanderburg came down to visit this spring and we had a wonderful time. All of you loved spending time together and sitting on his lap, especially Riley. Every time I loved over, you were by his side. I want this for you. I want you to be close and have a special relationship with him. Family is so important and I want you to know you are so loved by all of us.

Supplies: WOW Embossing Powder Clear Gloss Regular, Wow Embossing Powder Opaque Bright White Regular, Wow Embossing Powder Metallic Platinum Sparkle Embossing Glitter and WOW Brocade Stamp Set

JK-5K

Today I am going to share with you a layout I made using two of my favorite WOW! Glitter Embossing Powders....Suzy West Sierra Sunrise and Black Glint (my other favorite is the Neutral Ultra Shimmer!)
Ever since I can remember I have loved to run. Even now that I am older I still love to run 5K races regularly throughout the summer. I do it because I love it and not for the time. So when I found out I had actually placed at this race I was thrilled. So to highlight this achievement I made this layout.

Since yellow is my favorite color I took yellow cardstock and cut out the JK 5K and then embossed them with the Suzy West Sierra Sunrise Embossing Powder.
Then on my chipboard numbers and letters I double embossed them by first embossing them with Ebony and then with Black Glint. I wanted to make sure they had a really good black base. I just love how the glitter embossing powder just gives your project a little extra sparkle.
Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to come back tomorrow and see a group post by one of our amazing teams!!

Warmly,
Sherrie!!

A Rainbow of color...

Hey everyone! Tina here with my final post on the WOW blog! The time has come for me to explore some other fun opportunities that have ome my way!
Today I have a fun and colorful card to share with you.
In creating this card, I used the following WOW colors...
WOW Bright White
WOW Suzy West Cotton Candy
WOW Suzy West Sour Lemon

I just love that these colors show up so bright and clear on black cardstock! I used a Spellbinders® Impressabilities® template on the black paper. I embossed it in my Spellbinders Grand Calibur machine first. Then, leaving the template in place, I applied my Versamark ink. After removing the template, I sprinkled one color at a time until all 3 colors were on before heating. I just love how bright and cheery it came out! I also diecut the butterfly using a Spellbinders template, and added the powder in 3 colors here as well.
I hope that you will try combining your embossing powders to create a beautiful rainbow effect on your next project! It is SO much fun! Wow!! :)

Flower Wishes

I've got a fun card to share with you today that uses lots of wonderful embossing powder from Wow! There are so many ways to use embossing powder, and this card shows you several of them. First I used Wow's Call Me Stamp Set and embossed it using Suzy West Angel Wings. After that powder was heat set, then I rubbed the entire image with Versamark ink, and sprinkled it heavily with the Ultra High Clear powder. Look at all of the texture you get!

The flower is a brass flower from Graphic 45 - so yes, you can emboss on metal too! I inked the entire flower with Versamark ink, and sprinkled it with Opaque Pastel Pink Regular and embossed it. Then I took a Versamark pen, and drew detail lines on the petals, and added Suzy West Angel Wings to it. It's amazing how quickly and easily you can add a few special details.

A Bit About Paper Crafter's Library

The world of paper crafting is HUGE! Whether you are a beginner or you've been creating for years, the sheer number of different products, tools, techniques and project ideas can be overwhelming. After spending 6 years helping thousands of paper crafter's around the world become more successful in the creative space through her series of kits, digital tutorials and online classes, Andrea Walford began looking for a new approach to education.  In 2011 she launched Paper Crafter's Library - the first, and still to this day, only website that provides an all-in-one learning solution for paper crafters. With almost 800 videos currently in their library and 4-5 new videos added each week, Paper Crafter's LIbrary offers comprehensive training on products, tools, techniques and project ideas.  From beginner through to advanced, whether your interest is in stamping, card making, scrapbooking, creating 3D items or altered art - you'll find all the resources you need to navigate the world of paper crafting in ONE place, organized and indexed so that it's quick and easy to find.

So there you have it.  Be sure to take a minute to stop by the Paper Crafter's Library blog every day this week to check out the fantastic projects and videos tutorials created by both the Wow! Design Team and Paper Crafter's LIbrary Designers.

Don't forget to scroll down to see Jen Matott's project for today.

Drips and Drops

Hi!  Jen Matott here and I wanted to share a fun technique that I discovered but before I do, I want to tell you about a fun thing we are doing this week!!! We are collaborating with the Paper Crafts Library!!!! This entire week is Wow! week, and every day of this week our designers and their designers have created fantastic projects featuring Wow! Embossing Powders. There are lots of free video tutorials and we're giving away a set of 12 embossing powders on the Paper Crafter's Library Blog, and a set of 6 embossing powders here on the Wow! Blog.

I was looking for a drippy painted look but with embossing powders.  In order to create the drippy look, I had to find an adhesive that would drip and stay sticky after drying.  I have some gold leafing adhesive that you paint on and allow to dry before applying gold leaf.

Here's what you need and I'm going to show you how I did this!
If you don't have a dropper, you could use a paintbrush or plastic spoon to drip onto the page with.
I used a dropper to create a puddle and then tipped my page to create a drip.   I also splattered the dropper a bit to create some drops.
I let the adhesive dry for a few hours (or you can use a heat gun to speed it along) and then used Cotton Candy, Earthtone Paprika, Sierra Sunrise, and Angel Wings on the sticky drips!  I used my heat gun and found that it worked great!

I also used the Gratitude stamps to add some text and loops that match the Prima papers I used.  I was so happy to see that they matched!

Finding out that I can create any shape I want and create free-flowing drips and drops using this adhesive is so exciting and opens up a lot of possibilities for WOW embossing powders!

Supplies:
WOW! Embossing Powders: Cotton Candy, Earthtone Paprika, Cable Car Red, Sierra Sunrise, Black Glint and Angel Wings.
Stamps:  WOW!  Gratitude
Papers/ Embellishments: Prima
Adhesive: Dynasize La d'ore
VersaMark ink

Here are a few more close ups of the project:

I hope you liked my technique today and will try it out for yourself!
